The Birth Support Package

​PRENATAL

  • initial consultation 

  • monthly visits in person or via phone call.  These visits or calls allow you space and time to touch base and ask any questions you may have during your pregnancy.

  • in person prenatal knowledge support meetings

  • birth plan guidance

  • phone, email and text support

  • access to the lending library, including cultural books

BIRTH

  • on call availability based on the progress of the pregnancy

  • continuous emotional, physical, spiritual and knowledge support at the onset of labour

  • partner & sibling support 

  • support after birth with the feeding of the baby and the birthing team and tidying the birth space. My priority is to ensure the mother is settled and confident with your journey.

POST PARTUM

  • initial post partum visit at home to answer any of your questions post birth, prep your first dinner at home, share any tips, and you feel confident and settled.

  • continues in person support up until 4 weeks after of baby’s birth, unless more support is needed.

  • Doula grief care is also available for families navigating loss.

Classes & Workshops

If you are a family resource center or community organization interested in offering prenatal or postnatal workshops, I am available for contracted group sessions. These upcoming workshops will focus on culturally safe, family-centered support and education for parents and caregivers. Services can be tailored to meet the needs of your community. How to Prepare for a Home Birth

  • Choose a doula who understands your values and vision for birth

  • Talk through your birth preferences, comfort measures, and postpartum wishes together

  • Attend prenatal visits and childbirth education to feel confident and informed

  • Build your birth team (partner, doula, possibly a midwife, and anyone else you want present)

  • Plan for continued support after baby arrives, even if your birth path changes

What to Prepare for a Home Birth

Birth Supplies

  • Plenty of clean towels and soft blankets

  • Absorbent pads or underpads for your bed and floor

  • Shower curtain or plastic sheet to protect surfaces

  • Optional: birthing pool or large tub

  • Extra pillows for comfort

  • A large bowl or bucket (helpful for placenta or water use)

Comfort Items

  • Essential oils or calming scents

  • Ice packs or a warm compress

  • A soothing playlist or birth affirmations

  • Yoga ball, birth stool, or floor cushions

  • Fairy lights, soft lamps, or candles

  • Anything that makes the space feel safe and yours

Snacks & Hydration

  • Easy snacks you enjoy (dates, nuts, fruit)

  • Coconut water, tea, or electrolyte drinks

  • A water bottle with a straw for easy sipping

Essentials I Bring as Your Doula

  • Gentle hands-on support and massage tools

  • Guided breathing and relaxation techniques

  • Affirmations and grounding practices

  • Emotional support for you and your partner

  • A calm, steady presence to hold space throughout labour

Just in Case: Hospital Bag

  • Pack a small backup bag with clothes, toiletries, and newborn essentials

  • Include anything you’d want if your birth setting changes

Creating Your Birth Space at Home

  • Choose a quiet, private space where you feel most at ease

  • Make sure there’s room for your doula, partner, and birth supplies

  • Have a bathroom nearby, plus easy access to snacks and drinks

  • Add cozy touches like pillows, blankets, or meaningful items

  • A warm, well-lit, and clutter-free space can help you feel more relaxed

What to Wear During Labour

  • Whatever makes you feel comfortable and free to move

  • A robe, large t-shirt, or birthing bra

  • Warm socks or slippers

  • A tank top or swimsuit top for water births

  • It’s also completely okay to go without clothes
